Marko Polo - Shepherd Protector for sale in Baldy Mesa, California

$200

Marko Polo looks like one of those black military dogs, slinking through the brush with the other black military dogs, on their way to a secret mission just barely viewable for the cinema. Melissa (first owner) felt he had rottweiller because of his thick front feet and coloring. Judging how he plays vigorously in the water, I vote for a water-loving breed of dog. He is sweet, affectionate, and majorly intelligent. If there is a genius category for dogs, Marko goes to the front of the line. Yesterday's example: He gets a couple bites of boiled chicken if he is a "good boy." Good boys clean their bowl, but he didn't do that last night. So I lied and said, "Your a good boy," and I gave him a treat anyway. My first thought was I should hide the bowl just in case he checks his "Good Boy status". With memory loss, the thought flew away as quickly as it arrived, and sure enough, he ate the treat and went to check his bowl for reassurance of his "Good Boy status." I knew I sent a wrong message, but he didn't care, he got to be a good boy and he was running to find his ball for me to throw it for him. Having 4th stage cancer, I play "fetch" with him to exhaust him. If I get him tired enough to run for drinking water 3+ times, then I know I succeeded.
Melissa, his previous owner, gave him his basic training: sit, shake, lay, down, roll, no beg, go, no, and a couple others. He came knowing how to play fetch, keep away, football, and tug-o-war. Going away to college, she couldn't keep him at the apartment near her school so she made him available for adoption. I was looking for a dog that had one owner, basic training, looked and acted protective. I've had a stalker (living directly across from me) for a year and Marko was adopted to fill that need.
Marko has a gentle, friendly, loyal disposition with people, children, and other animals. His best friend was a cat, who died six months before I adopted him. He is very protective of my cats and sleeps outside the 2 bedrooms, and has to check on them periodically. They have become interested in him, he isn't threatening to the cats (even my homeless cats are fine with him, and I think in time, he would have a couple friends in my home. He is extremely intelligent, sharp, and watchful. He has never harmed or bit a person. He knows the difference between my things and shoes, and his toys, including his toy shoe. He has perfect house manners: no chewing, leaping, dismantling of fixtures. He is a gentleman. The officer said I really lucked out as he expected problems when I went to Albuquerque. But the dog figured out how to open the door to the kitties and was guarding them. He was fine unsupervised.
He has dog aggression toward other dogs as he wants to demonstrate he is the boss. So I walk him with a muzzle for the sake of the little dogs so their owners don't get upset with him. He does well with people in general. He's a good looking dog and catches peoples' eye. I'm 65 years old, have lymphoma, terminally ill, and I've always had a problem falling down, even before Marko came on the scene. He faithfully stands by me when I fall. He was magnificent in dealing with a stalker. Without prompting, he would growl as he passed the man on the street. Somehow he knew that man was a problem.
I have spent over $1200 on Marko for his initial fee, equipment (leash, collar, etc), microchipped, vets (vaccinations, neuter verification, deworming), and including his basic training which I obtained a 3-month refresher for $750 from a retired police/search and rescue officer. I need references and appropriate documentation that Marko will have a good home.
